It’s a brave new world out there folks. Technology may rock and roll and make life easier, but it also makes it more difficult. As this article shows, gone are the days of just presenting documents to a technology provider in order to gain access to a digital asset….even after death. So you might want to read this article and share it with folks.
My best possible solution: create a master file of sites, email accounts, and devices and include the user’s name the account/device is registered to, the email account associated with it, the user name, and the password. Then put that with all your other important personal documents and put it somewhere or with someone who can pass it on in the appropriate time frame.
That’s just my thoughts. if you have found yourself in a similar situation, or have different thoughts on how to handle it, share it in the comments box below.
