You can safely use Windows 7 until 2020, but I won’t be answering your questions

The time is drawing nigh.  If you want to upgrade to Windows 10 for FREE, you need to do it before 12 midnight on Friday July 29.  Which is within 24 hours.  I am still not sure I want to upgrade, as I have a 5 or 6 your old laptop running Windows 7, and it would probably cause more problems than not.

So I was glad to see that Windows 7 will work until 2020.  I’m pretty sure I will be replacing my laptop well before then!!

  1. I would run the compatibility checker first before relenting to your machine being too old. I’ve found that some of the best machines I’ve fixed/rebuilt with new RAM and SSD’s have functioned on par with some of the newer machines out there. Windows 10 is amazingly efficient with their boot process now (compared to previous version that is). Linux is still the champion of stability and reliability.
