It’s Friday, and most folks are preparing to shut down computers for the day and the weekend.  But here we go yet again talking about ransomware.  Seems another round has popped up today, and this time they are only giving you, in some instances, hours to pay up before the ransom price goes up.  In some instances, they will even delete your data if you do not pay quickly enough.

Best thing you can do is be prepared.  Back up app of your data, meaning documents, photos, videos, music files, and PDF files.  Again, best practice is to move things to external hard drives as you add files on a regular basis, and keep the external drive unplugged until you need it.  Also, seriously look into taking advantage of any of the multiple cloud storage options available to you from Google, Apple, Dropbox, and other REPUTABLE outlets.

So enjoy your weekend, and make sure your data is safe.  If you get hit by ransomware, you will be out of luck trying to retrieve it.
